River Neighbors |
Description:
I remember meeting Mrs. B and Mrs. K during our 2007 Parade of Homes. They came up to meet and explained that they had been following us for years through the Parade of Homes. They were currently neighbors living in Richland for the last 15 years and had recently purchased side by side riverfront lots on the other side of the river. They were only willing to move if they could remain neighbors. I knew right away they perfect clients for StoneCrest.
Soon after the Parade was over, we met on their lots which were in the middle of an irrigated pasture overlooking the Hanford Reach. This was one of the most spectacular view properties I had come across. We discussed designing two homes that would capture the natural beauty of this special place without distracting from it. We discussed the challenges of drilling unusually deep wells through the sandy soils and installing engineered septic systems. We talked about the how to reshape the lots to create flat homesites that would compliment one another.
While Mrs. B and Mrs K. were great friends and neighbors they had very different styles. One wanted Hickory hardwood floors and more traditional design while the other wanted stained concrete floors with wide open flowing rooms. One needed guest rooms upstairs and the other wanted everything on the same level. Both their husbands wanted "huge" garages. The photos attached are the result. These photos were taken near the completion of the two homes prior to landscaping with one of those small digital cameras by a very unprofessional photographer.
A special thanks to both familes for making us a part of this fantastic construction adventure.
